After using Peakto on macOS Tahoe 26 for a few weeks, I'd like to maintain a list of usability fixes that would be nice to see to streamline Peakto's workflow.
1) Anywhere the Faces View presents a question (i.e., the text below a face in the "People annotated in other apps" section), there should be an "Untag" option in the resulting click menu along with "Validate..." and "Ignore". As of now, the only way this can be accomplished is by typing "Untagged" into the text field and pressing <RETURN>, which is cumbersome.
2) In the Faces View, there should be a way to prevent the entire view from scrolling/refreshing when a face cluster is tagged. Tagging a cluster causes all clusters after the tagged one to shift location to the left when the previously Untagged cluster disappears, which is very annoying when you have lots of clusters and your eye is already focused on the next cluster that you wish to tag.
3) There appears to be no documentation on exactly what the "Find More Faces" button in Faces View does.
4) There appears to be no documentation on specifically where the "People annotated in other apps" section of Face View pulls its data from. Specifically, it prevents me from going to the "other app" and correcting incorrect data.
5) The "Face Tag Editing" window is only resizable to a certain point. This is annoying when you have a face cluster that contains hundreds of face match images and you wish to quickly soft through the cluster looking for inaccuracies when you have multiple 4K monitors.
6) The Faces View often gets into a "mode" where clicking on a face cluster does not show the two overlay icons (Edit & Panorama) in the cluster. It only highlights the cluster. The primary workaround is to right-click outside the cluster, don't choose anything from the resulting menu, and click the cluster again.
7) Having the "Grid" button on a cluster in Face View switch the entire main view mode to Grid is disruptive from a workflow perspective. That Grid button should either display the Grid in a dialog window (like the Edit button does) or provide some what to easily return to Face View (aka a "Back Button") in the event that you click it accidentally, which for me happens quite often.
8) The Timeline has some usability issues:
- The initial display of the Timeline is very non-intuitive. There is no "default" selection created when first displayed and no indication that the user needs to make a selection at all.
- It is unclear how to delete a selection. The <DELETE> key after clicking the selection doesn't work and there's no "X" on the selection range itself. There should be some way to delete the selection range that doesn't require the Right-click menu.
9) On operations that take large amounts of time (like refreshing the display after changing filter parameters), there is no visual feedback. The display simply sits there and then magically refreshes sometime in the future. There should be some type of visual feedback in the interface indicating type some type of computational process is in progress in the background.
