What governs inclusion in an instant?
I am experimenting with Peakto, thinking about how it would best fit into my workflow. I would like to understand more about how Peakto identifies images that belong to a single instant, because it seems to be inconsistent to me.
I am only using folder watching on macOS 14.5 and the current version of Peakto.
Questions:
- When I create new versions of images in the same folder using DxO PhotoLab (working in-place, not in Peakto's editing workspace), some of these are added as versions to an existing instant, others from the same batch export are added as their own instant. I expected they would all be added as versions of the existing instant (the original image). What causes some to be recognised and others not?
- When I export from an original image to the same folder using Peakto itself, the exported image is not added to the same instant but becomes its own instant. Why?
I have experimented with the Advanced settings for instant recognition and metadata use, but it seems to make no difference.
Some further documentation in the manual on just how Peakto decides what should be included in an instant would be very helpful.
