Start with Peakto, the best Photo Cataloger

1.2 How to start with Peakto?

Peakto is a meta-cataloger that brings together all of a photographer’s photos and videos into a single interface. It connects seamlessly with many popular photo and video editing applications (Apple Photos, Lightroom Classic, Luminar Neo, Capture One, Pixelmator Pro, DXO PhotoLab and PureRAW, Aperture, iView Media, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro), as well as with folders and standalone photo and video files.

Peakto is designed to act as your control tower, giving photographers a complete overview of their media while providing powerful tools to manage, analyze, search, automatically sort, and create albums from photos and videos stored across multiple sources.

Installing Peakto

Peakto is available exclusively for Mac. You can activate your single-user Peakto license on up to 2 computers. Peakto can be downloaded from the cyme.io website or from the Mac App Store.

Available Plans

Peakto is available as a subscription:

  1. Standard – Includes Mac-compatible software and individual web access. Starts at $10/month.
  2. Pro – Adds multi-user web access. Starts at $25/month per user.

A perpetual license is also available for the Standard version, including one year of updates.

Find all the details about Peakto's plan here.

All plans—subscription or one-time purchase—include a 7-day free trial, giving you the chance to test Peakto’s advanced features with your own images and videos.

Downloading Peakto

Once you’ve purchased or subscribed on the website, you’ll receive an email with a link to download Peakto on your Mac. The application will appear in your Downloads folder. Simply drag and drop it into your Applications folder, then double-click to launch Peakto.

At first launch, Peakto will prompt you to download the latest resources required for proper operation.

While these resources are being downloaded, you can go through the onboarding tour that introduces Peakto’s main features. A welcome video will also play the very first time you open Peakto. You can watch it again anytime via the Help ➜ Video Help menu.

Peakto will also detect compatible applications already installed on your Mac and suggest enabling specific integrations. You may skip this step and configure integrations later through the Preferences dialog. If you’re ready, simply follow the on-screen instructions. (More details are provided in the next section.)
