Transferring pictures from a dead iMac (Aperture) to my new MacBook (Lightroom)
I had an Aperture installation on an old iMac running OS X 10.13.6 High Sierra. The iMac no longer works, but I was able to remove the hard drive and to copy library and pictures .
The Aperture library is located in the directory
~/Pictures
The pictures are (as referenced pictures) in directories sorted by years/months/days also in the directory
~/Pictures
I have copied the Aperture Library and the entire directory structure with the images to a SSD and would now like to manage them with Lightroom on my MacBook Pro under OS X 14.6 Sonoma.
The Lightroom library is located under
~/Pictures
The images are referenced on an external SSD.
How should I proceed with Avalanche for Lightroom in this case? I have opened the Aperture Library on the SSD on a trial basis and get the error message that the paths to the images are not correct. I am grateful for any advice!
Many thanks in advance
Tom
